Position Summary

The Town of St. James is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Town Manager. St. James is a growing community with approximately 5,500 residents and is located in southeast North Carolina near Brunswick County beaches. The residential area of the town is comprised of a private golf-course community with adjacent municipal and commercial properties. Town government structure is Council-Manager. Responsibilities include those prescribed in N.C. General Statutes plus serving as UDO Administrator and Personnel Administrator for 5 employees.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in public administration, business administration or a related field, a Master’s degree and ICMA certification is preferred. Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience as a Town Manager and must possess strong management, leadership, public relations and communications skills.
