Manager – Halfmoon Township

Position Summary

Halfmoon Township in Centre County, PA is now taking applications to replace their Manager retiring on February 1, 2020. Halfmoon Township is an exurb of the State College Metropolitan Statistical area. Location is 10 miles Northwest of Penn State University with a population base of approximately 3,000.  Halfmoon’s Manager also serves as the Township’s Secretary, Treasurer, Finance Director, Procurement Officer, Human Services Director, Safety Director and Risk Manager. Managerial responsibilities include:  Supervision of 5 FTEs, preparation of $2.1 million annual budget, and appointed and elected official liaison. Strong focus on citizen engagement, strategic planning and implementation, open land and environmental preservation, policy analysis and program development.

Bachelor’s in public administration required, MPA preferred, 5 to 7 years managerial experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation and benefits include: $75,000-$90,000 annual salary dependent upon experience, sick, personal and vacation days, personal vehicle mileage reimbursement, professional development allowance, 457 deferred compensation plan, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. The Township also provides a defined pension benefit after 10 years of service.
