Job Title: Facility Superintendent
Department: Water and Sewer
Reports to: Director of Water and Sewer/Authority Manager
FLSA: Exempt
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $80,000 – 90,000
The Facility Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Director of Water and Sewer/Authority Manager in overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of all areas of the South Middleton Township Municipal Authority water and sewer systems operated and maintained by South Middleton Township.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Water and Sewer/Authority Manager and staff concerning operations, maintenance, and administrative matters related to the water and sewer systems.
- Assist in the review of Land Development and Subdivision plans as well as the review of internal projects.
- Perform regular rounds on weekends and holidays, as required.
- Be on-call and available 24-hours a day, as required in case of emergency.
Required Knowledge to Perform Work
- Working knowledge of biology, chemistry, and hydraulics as it applies to water and wastewater treatment.
- Working knowledge of water and sewer line installation.
- Analyze and solve problems.
- Be accurate and have attention to detail.
- Knowledge of computer and applications software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite
Education/Training and Qualifications
This position must possess and/or maintain the following, at minimum, throughout employment, as well as additional education/training/certification/licensure, as may be required:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, engineering, business administration, or a related field
- One to three years of progressively responsible experience in a business setting
- An equivalent or suitable combination of items A and B will be considered
- Commonwealth of Pennsylvania D.E.P. Certifications for Water and Wastewater Systems
- Valid Commercial PA Driver’s License
