Director of Finance – Town of Bloomsburg

Job Summary

The Town of Bloomsburg is currently seeking a full-time Director of Finance.  Bloomsburg is a historic town and is the County seat for Columbia County, PA with an approximate population of 12,711 and encompasses 4.7 square miles. The position will oversee a $13 million dollar budget in 2024 with 23 bank accounts.

The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator to track all local, state and federal funds and assist departments with financial related projects. He or she will possess strong communications and relationship building skills.

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required and must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting, where a minimum of three (3) of those years are in governmental accounting or progressive advancement. Experience with Freedom System software and Paychex is a plus.

Salary: $60,000- $80,000 annually.

Medical coverage for employee/ child(ren)- 9% employee share taken out via payroll bi-weekly deductions.

Vacation- 10 days pro-rated for the year in year one/ second year 15 days.

Sick- 4 hours accrued each month.

Personal- 24 hours each calendar year.

Pension- vesting 5 years and 7% on wages.  Must be age 65 with 5 years or 15 years with age 60.

Short term disability fully paid for by the Town when employed.

Life insurance of $20,000 fully paid for by the Town when employed.

Medical Reimbursement of $850 each calendar year.
