Finance Director – College Township

Position Summary

College Township is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as its next Finance Director. The current Finance Director is retiring following nearly 25 years of service to the municipality. College Township, a second-class township, located in State College, Pennsylvania, is a desirable community with a high quality amenities and home to the Pennsylvania State University Main Campus

The Finance Director provides strategic leadership and direction for the operational activities of the Finance Department and collaborates closely with the Township Manager and other members of the municipal leadership team to develop and execute the annual operating budget and capital improvement program. The position is responsible for accounting of revenues and expenditures, investments, fixed assets and property, utility billing, and the employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, for the Township and its related Authorities.

This is a salaried position, under the general direction of the Township Manager. The Finance Director oversees a total municipal budget of over $11 million in expenditures and is responsible for direct supervision of four staff members.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or related field; supplemented with four or more years’ of related experience including supervisory or management experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting, business management or related field, or
  • Certified Government Financial Manager designation, or
  • Completion of Certified Public Finance Officers Program.

The current salary range for the position is $93,064 – $130,290, with an excellent benefit package. The starting salary will be DOQE. Review of candidates will commence immediately and the position will remain open until filled. College Township is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
