Requirements

The primary role of the Information Technology Analyst (Public Safety) is to manage, align, and leverage technology resources with the public safety needs of the Borough. This includes developing sustainable systems for collecting, maintaining, and governing data, managing hardware and software, facilitating the delivery of training and technical support to end users, and capitalizing upon collaborations with, including but not limited to other municipal jurisdictions, the Centre Regional Council of Governments, Centre County, and Penn State University.

This position is both a subject matter expert and cross-functional leader which requires deep and broad knowledge and skills. This includes extensive technical knowledge of public safety technology solutions, including police records management systems, and the ability to successfully analyze data and prepare reports. Because this position collaborates with others to scope, schedule, and deliver projects, proficiency in applied project management and excellent facilitation and communication skills are also required.

This is a key position responsible for collecting and managing data, conducting research, performing technical analyses, and coordinating activities and initiatives. The position participates in the long-term development and enhancement of technical capabilities to meet strategic business objectives by providing expertise, support, guidance, and leadership.

Work is performed independently under limited supervision with moderate latitude. Position typically requires processing and interpreting of more complex, less clearly defined issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field; supplemented by two or more years of experience with computer systems and software applications; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. This position requires a criminal background evaluation and a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Prefer experience in a public safety setting
