Pennsylvania Downtown Center Annual Conference: Pennsylvania’s Premier Revitalization Conference Request for Letters of Interest for 2022 Conference Host
The Pennsylvania Downtown Center seeks letters of interest from interested community partnerships to host its 2022 Annual Community Revitalization Conference. Respondents may be communities, hotels, tourism bureaus, Main Street and Elm Street organizations, economic development organizations, regional partnerships or others. We encourage you to distribute this proposal among local partners.
Background: Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC) is the only statewide nonprofit dedicated solely to the revitalization of the commonwealth’s core communities. Our member organizations, and the communities with which we work, range in size and location from extremely large urban neighborhoods to rural towns with a population of less than one thousand. Primarily through utilization of the National Main Street Center’s Main Street Approach®, PDC provides outreach, technical assistance, and educational services to assist communities in revitalizing their central business districts and surrounding residential neighborhoods.
Our Conference: The annual PDC conference will tentatively be held June 2022. The conference attracts professionals from all areas of Pennsylvania and, occasionally, neighboring states. This yearly event draws PDC membership together for education, idea exchanges, networking and social events. Attendance is projected at more than 250 for the conference; we seek a strong host partner to help us provide an excellent experience for our attendees.
Our Membership: Attendees represent downtown revitalization programs, local and state government, corporations, foundations, financial institutions, and community and economic development organizations. Professionals include architects, planners, preservationists, designers, retailers, property owners, realtors, developers, housing and finance specialists, social workers, healthcare providers, and consultants in varied fields. PDC will promote the conference to members and non-members alike, as well as to statewide professional agencies. PDC will distribute conference promotional material at other statewide conferences prior to the event.
