This course dives deeper into the strategic and technical aspects of municipal finance. This session is ideal for officials and staff who manage budgets, oversee financial operations, or make decisions about long-term investments and risk.
Participants will explore how to manage expenditures effectively, including personnel costs, insurance, and capital planning. You’ll gain practical insights into risk management strategies, debt and borrowing procedures, and the legal framework surrounding municipal obligations.
The day also covers internal controls, procurement policies, and pension and investment management—critical areas for maintaining transparency, accountability, and long-term financial health.
Interactive discussions will allow attendees to share their experiences with risk management and pension planning, offering valuable peer-to-peer learning.
