NLC Service Line Warranty Program/Homeserve Update

Please see information from our Business Leaders Network Member Homeserve, NLC Service Line Warranty Program – Rob Meston, Strategic Partnerships Manager.

Below is some data regarding Pennsylvania residents that are participating in the NLC SLWP.  Over the past year we have brought on 6 new city partners in PA, bringing the total to 36. Additionally, over the past three years Pennsylvania residents have now saved more than $13.9 million in out of pocket repair costs with this program.

I also wanted to share a short update concerning how HomeServe is handling its employees, contractors, and customers during this challenging time.  As an essential business, and one that homeowners rely on to keep their homes and families safe, we’ve taken a number of significant steps in the last 5 weeks.

  • HomeServe’s CEO pledged to keep the entire workforce employed through the pandemic.  As you might imagine, this was a significant commitment but one that the leadership team felt was important.  This measure will ensure that all resident claims will continue to be addressed and completed as quickly as possible.
  • HomeServe has quickly shifted its claim deployment process to incorporate personal protective equipment (PPE) best practices and social distancing.  Given that HomeServe’s services often require a local contractor to enter the home, HomeServe has gone to great lengths to reinforce the proper use of PPE for employed techs and contractors, conducted web based training on proper protocol, and provided guidance to customers in advance of service delivery.  Just last week we completed 1,200 emergency jobs for homeowners.  Even during a pandemic, these home emergencies still happen and homeowners rely on us t/o fix their problem and do it safely.
  • Lastly, HomeServe is now launching a free service for homeowners sheltering in place and who are concerned about having outsiders visit their house for repairs. Called Telefix, it is a free phone based service that matches any homeowner (even if they are not a HomeServe customer) with a qualified technician within the appropriate trade, who can help troubleshoot, diagnose, and assist a homeowner in a DIY repair of a critical home system. And when a phone based solution can’t solve the problem, the homeowner will have the option to have one of our network contractors visit the home and provide repairs at a discounted rate.  At a time when almost every is leaning on their home more than ever, we want to homeowners stay safe and save money.
