Budget Season Survival Guide: Decoding Your Electricity Bill and Contract

November 12 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Understanding your charges, today’s energy market, and how the MUA program helps you plan with confidence

Budget season is here, and energy is one of the top five expenses for most municipalities. Even so, many local governments aren’t sure what’s built into their rate or what happens when their contract expires.  Some utility default rates rise on December 1, and Penn Power’s small-commercial rate is going up 33.7%.  That makes now the right time to take a closer look. Join the Pennsylvania Municipal League’s Municipal Utility Alliance (MUA) and Constellation for a practical, plain-language session to help you build a more predictable energy budget.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Read the supply and delivery charges on your electricity bill
  • See how this year’s default rate changes could affect your budget
  • Spot hidden fees, pass-through costs and variable pricing in a contract
  • Use the MUA program to review future terms and lock in pricing early
