2026 Local Government Symposium – Registration Now Open!
The Local Government Commission will host its sixth annual Local Government Symposium on Thursday, September 24. This year’s symposium will be held entirely online via the Zoom platform. An outline of the day’s agenda can be viewed below and a more detailed schedule, including speakers, can be viewed here.

- 9:30 – 9:45 Opening Remarks
- 9:45 – 10:45 Session #1 – Stormwater Management post-West Chester
- 11:00 – 12:00 Session #2 – Municipal Management
- 12:00 – 12:45 Break for Lunch (there will not be programming during this break)
- 12:45 – 1:45 Session #3 – Data Centers
- 2:00 – 3:00 Session #4 – Short-Term Rentals

York Mayor Sandie Walker to Host State of the City on October 1 – The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts and will provide an opportunity to hear directly from Mayor Walker about where York stands today, the progress being made across the city and the work ahead. State of the City is free and open to everyone, but registration is required.
