21st Century ROAD to Housing Act Update
Speaker Mike Johnson formally transmitted the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act to President Trump on Monday, kicking off the ten legislative-day window for the President to act. Within that window, the President can sign the bill into law, or veto the bill, at any time. If the President does not sign or veto the bill over these ten days, essentially taking no action, the bill will automatically become law on Friday, July 10. Just to note – the final vote in the Senate was 85-5, and in the House 358-32. Importantly, the vote tallies are above the threshold of support necessary to override a Presidential veto.
