Help Us Shape the 2026 Municipal Leadership Summit! We’re looking for fresh voices, creative session ideas, and real-world municipal experiences to feature at the 2026 Municipal Leadership Summit. Do you know a great speaker, panelist, or community leader? Are you or your municipality doing something others could learn from? We’d love to hear from you.

We are especially interested in ideas connected to these questions:

  • How are communities responding to the rise of eBikes and eScooters?
  • Is your community using an offbeat or unusual idea to attract visitors?
  • How are municipalities bridging generational gaps in the workplace?
  • Are you using creative ways to share services with neighboring municipalities?
  • How can municipalities prepare for disasters in a changing funding environment?

We’re also looking for ideas to make the Summit more interactive and engaging. Have you participated in a session format, activity, or discussion style that made a program especially practical, memorable, or fun? Please share it with us! Send us your speaker recommendations, contact information, or session ideas. Whether it’s a name, a topic, a municipal success story, or a format that stood out at another event, your input will help us create timely, practical, and engaging programming for our members. FHWA Form 536 Due June 15 – The 536 form reports all road and bridge expenditures from the previous year along with all funding sources used, including Liquid Fuels Tax funds, general funds, grants, private contributions, and other revenues. PennDOT combines the local submissions into a single statewide report for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The annual submission deadline has changed from October 15 to June 15, and FHWA has emphasized that submission of the form is mandatory. PennDOT must now identify municipalities that fail to submit the form, and FHWA may contact those municipalities directly or impose penalties. PennDOT offers assistance through virtual or in-person training sessions and support from PennDOT Financial Consultants. The FHWA 536 reporting system is available at PennDOT FHWA 536 Reporting Website. Questions or training requests may be directed to a municipality’s Financial Consultant or by emailing RA-PDFHWAMUNIFORM@pa.gov.
