Advocacy

The League’s Spring District Meetings and Resolutions Process

As a member driven organization, it is important we hear from you to accurately represent your municipality’s needs with the General Assembly.

Each spring, League members receive the opportunity to submit policy suggestions through resolutions, shaping The League’s policy agenda. Simply propose a policy resolution during your district meeting. Resolutions adopted at the district level will go to the Annual Municipal Leadership Summit for consideration by the resolutions committee and full League membership. This is a particularly important process because it sets the future policy priorities and positions of The League.

View The League’s 2025 adopted resolutions as a sample to prepare for this year’s district meetings. Please contact Kaitlin Errickson, Governmental Affairs Manager, at kerrickson@pml.org if you have any questions.

Appoint Your Legislative Liaison Today

To streamline our advocacy efforts, we are asking each community to designate a Legislative Liaison to serve as the point person for quick responses when advocacy action is necessary.

Business Leaders Network Spotlight

Prevent + Protect: A New Wellness Resource for Municipal Employees – Municipal leaders across the country are facing rising healthcare costs, workforce stress, and growing concerns about employee well-being—especially among police, fire, EMS, and other frontline staff. The Prevent + Protect program, offered through Bearing Advisors, provides a proactive approach to improving the physical, mental, and financial wellness of municipal employees. The program helps municipalities expand their employee benefits by giving staff access to preventative health tools, wellness coaching, mental health support, and supplemental insurance options. By leveraging federal wellness incentives, Prevent + Protect can often be implemented without increasing municipal budgets or reducing employee take-home pay.For local governments, the program offers a way to strengthen employee health, improve morale, and potentially reduce long-term healthcare costs. By investing in preventative care and wellness, municipalities can better support the people who keep their communities running every day.Municipal officials interested in learning more about how this program works and whether it could benefit their workforce can explore additional information here:
