Comcast Surpasses 70 Lift Zones Across Central and Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia
Across Central and Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, Comcast has been working with community partners like the LGBT Center in Reading to launch more than 70 WiFi-connected Lift Zones with more being added over the coming weeks and months.
Lift Zones establish WiFi-connected, safe spaces in community centers that serve everyone from students and adults to veterans and seniors – and many others. Nationwide, Comcast has set a goal to launch 1,000+ Lift Zones by the end of 2021. On the 10th anniversary of the Internet Essentials program, Comcast announced a $1 billion investment over the next 10 years to help further close the digital divide as part of the 10th anniversary of its Internet Essentials program, which includes investing in Lift Zones. This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to help connect low-income families to the Internet and provide resources to help them fully participate in educational opportunities and the digital economy.
NBCUniversal to Provide Live 4K HDR Coverage of NBC’s Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Primetime Show For First Time
For the first time ever, NBC Olympics will provide live coverage of the NBC broadcast network’s Olympic Games primetime show in certain markets in the 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) format with High Dynamic Range (HDR) and ATMOS sound, making the pageantry, dynamic imagery, and immersive sound that is unique to the Olympic and Paralympic Games even more spectacular for viewers.
NBC’s primetime coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will also be presented in 4K HDR. The Games of the XXXII Olympiad will take place July 23-August 8, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, live competition coverage of all Tokyo Games programming on GOLF Channel and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will be made available in 4K HDR throughout the Games, bringing viewers closer to the athletes, venues and Japanese landscape than ever before.
Comcast Opens
New Xfinity Store in Hanover PA
Comcast opened a new Xfinity Store in Hanover, the eleventh Xfinity Store in Central Pennsylvania.
This investment will give customers more convenient access to see and experience Xfinity’s suite of products or interact with staff.
The new store is located in North Point Plaza at 1150 Carlisle Street in Hanover. Comcast also operates Central Pennsylvania Xfinity stores in Hummelstown, Lebanon, Harrisburg, Chambersburg, Mechanicsburg, State College, Lancaster, Williamsport, Wyomissing, and York – part of a network of 27 Xfinity Stores throughout the Keystone Region.
“Our newest Xfinity Store in Hanover is an important part of our ongoing effort to improve the customer experience,” said Keystone Region Senior Vice President Toni Murphy. “Providing space for customers to learn more about our products in a more expansive, thoughtfully-designed store is what they expect from a technology leader like Comcast.”
