Comcast Launching WiFi-Connected “Lift Zone” in Bradford County Branch YMCA
Lift Zones Will Provide Safe Spaces with Free Internet to Help Hundreds of Low- Income Students Participate in Distance Learning
Comcast continues its ongoing commitment to help connect low-income families to the Internet so they can fully participate in educational opportunities and the digital economy, Comcast announced plans to equip the Bradford County Branch YMCA with a WiFi-connected “Lift Zone” .
Lift Zone sites complement Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which, since 2011, has now connected a cumulative total of more than 10 million people in America to broadband Internet at home, including approximately 280 people in Bradford County alone.
“The Bradford County Branch YMCA is very pleased to welcome Comcast’s Lift Zones to Bradford County as part of our collective effort to ensure that youth, regardless of income, are connected to the educational tools needed to ensure their success,” said Chad Eberhart, Chief Executive Officer of River Valley Regional YMCA.

Five Small Businesses in Pittsburgh to Receive a Technology Makeover or Marketing Services from Comcast RISE
Comcast will award technology and marketing resources to five small-owned businesses, which includes Hispanic and Asian American owned businesses among others, in Pittsburgh. These recipients are part of nearly 2,500 entrepreneurs nationwide who have been selected as Comcast RISE awardees since November, including eight previously announced winners in Pittsburgh.
Through Comcast RISE, the company also announced it will support 13,000 small-owned businesses by 2022 with a TV campaign, production of a TV commercial or consulting services from Effectv; or computer equipment, internet, voice or cybersecurity from Comcast Business; or a monetary grant.Read more about Comcast Rise and the recent recipients.
