Comcast NBCUniversal Keystone Region Awards $132,500 in Scholarships to High Schools Seniors across Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia
Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program Recognizes Students’ Achievements Both In and Out of the Classroom

Students are selected for their outstanding community service, academic performance, and leadership skills. The award, funded by the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, is a one-time, $2,500 scholarship to be used toward undergraduate education-related expenses. Since 2001, more than $34 million has been awarded to about 30,000 high school seniors across the country as part of the Leaders and Achievers program.


Comcast Expands Service to Borough of Kingston
Comcast’s Advanced Network and Suite of Innovative Products and Services Now Available in Northeastern PA

Comcast has announced it is expanding its network to the borough of Kingston, giving residents and businesses a new choice for video, internet, mobile, voice and home security and automation services. Construction to extend Comcast’s advanced network throughout Kingston began in 2019 and is expected to be complete in late 2020. More than half of Kingston residents and businesses already have access to the network. York Housing Authority and Comcast Announce Partnership to Provide Free Internet Access to Housing Authority Students and Families

York Housing Authority has partnered with Comcast to provide eight months of high-speed internet access through Comcast’s Internet Essentials Program to 200 eligible families served by the Housing Authority beginning July 6, 2020.

“Access to valuable information and resources has been one of the greatest challenges that COVID-19 has presented to some of our most vulnerable community members,” said York Housing Authority’s Executive Director Regina S. Mitchell. “We are proud to partner with organizations like Comcast who can help break down this barrier and provide the resources people so desperately need to navigate this unprecedented time.”

Internet service will be provided through Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, designed for low-income families and individuals to acquire access to the internet. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Comcast is offering two free months of internet access to qualifying low-income families that apply before the end of the year. The Housing Authority is purchasing an additional six months of service, enabling eight months of free internet access.


Free Virtual Summer Camp Now Open!
Xfinity and NBCUniversal Team Up to Bring a Free Virtual Camp Experience to the Living Rooms of Xfinity Customers

July 13th Comcast’s Xfinity opened Camp Tonsafun, a free virtual camp hosted by counselors from the NBCUniversal family and beyond featuring activities that are tailor-made for Xfinity customers and families to enjoy at home.

According to the American Camp Association, each year more than 14 million children and adults attend camp in the U.S. and Camp Tonsafun is intended to be a resource for customers and their families who may be impacted by the closure of many programs this summer due to COVID-19.

Available on Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex, Camp Tonsafun features video lessons and activities spanning arts, sports, cooking, experiments and adventures geared toward children ages 5-12. Campers can participate using items that they likely already have at home. To access Camp Tonsafun programming, customers can simply say “summer camp” into the Xfinity Voice Remote.
