The salary level for an employee to be classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) will be raised to $47,476 annually, effective December 1, 2016. Now is the time to review your municipality’s exempt and non-exempt classifications and make any necessary corrections to those designations.
