Public Service for Everyone: What Happens When All Are Welcome explores how embracing varied perspectives\, promoting fairness\, and fostering a sense of connection can strengthen trust\, improve relationships\, and lead to more responsive and inclusive local governance. \n\n\n\nThis training from the League equips local officials with foundational tools to recognize and meet the unique needs of their communities. Participants will reflect on their own experiences and apply insights from the course modules to support policies and practices that ensure equitable access\, representation\, and opportunity for everyone—both within the organization and across the community. \n\n\n\nThe course is taught by Abe Amoros\, Executive Director for Operations at The League. He completed the Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion certificate program at Cornell University and has a passion for sharing and supporting DEIB principles. \n\n\n\nKey Topics: \n\n\n\n\nOverview of the evolution of inclusion\n\n\n\nRace Relations\n\n\n\nMicroaggressions\n\n\n\nImplicit and Unconscious Biases\n\n\n\nImportance of Allies\n\n\n\n\nWho should attend:  All municipal elected and appointed officials and staff \n\n\n\nAt the end of the webinar\, you can expect to be able to: \n\n\n\n\nRecognize the value of varied perspectives in shaping inclusive public services and community engagement.\n\n\n\nIdentify barriers to fairness and access within municipal systems and explore strategies to address them.\n\n\n\nApply principles of respect\, empathy\, and cultural awareness to strengthen relationships with staff and constituents.\n\n\n\nReflect on personal and professional experiences to better understand how individual actions impact community trust and inclusion.\n\n\n\nDevelop practical approaches to policy-making that promote equal opportunity and representation for all community members.\n\n\n\nFoster a sense of connection and shared purpose within municipal teams and across diverse populations.\n\n\n\n\nBy registering for this course\, you are authorizing the League Learning Academy to forward information to you at your email address related to educational offerings. \n\n\n\nOnce your registration is completed\, you should receive a confirmation email from The PA Municipal League.
