Township Manager/Treasurer – Upper Pottsgrove Township

Position Summary

TOWNSHIP MANAGER/TREASURER—Upper Pottsgrove Township (population 5,870), a First-Class Township in Montgomery County, PA, seeks an experienced leader and skilled communicator to serve as its Township Manager/Treasurer. Working closely with a five-member Board of Commissioners, the Manager/Treasurer provides hands-on leadership of all Township operations while serving as the primary liaison with staff, residents, and the community. The Manager/Treasurer administers an annual budget of approximately $4.1 million and oversees a staff of three full-time administrative employees, a Police Department of ten, and a Public Works crew of four.

Qualifications

Candidates should have (1) a minimum of three to five years of municipal management experience; (2) a strong background in strategic planning, capital improvement planning, and project management; (3) working knowledge of municipal finance and personnel/human resources management; (4) proven ability to build positive relationships with residents and community stakeholders; and (5) a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. The Board of Commissioners intends to remove the current ordinance requirement that the Manager reside within fifteen miles of the Township. Salary range $125,000 – $145,000 with excellent benefits; actual salary to be based on experience and qualifications.
