Position Summary
ZONING AND CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. East Bradford Township (pop. 10,000) is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to public service to serve as our Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer. This position is the primary contact for zoning and code inquiries and is responsible for investigating complaints, interpreting and enforcing Township regulations, and reviewing building and zoning permit applications for compliance. The role includes preparing correction letters, notices of violation, and stop-work orders, and working collaboratively with property owners to resolve issues constructively. The Officer also serves as a liaison to the Historical Commission, Historical Architectural Review Board, and Zoning Hearing Board.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education preferred) and a valid driver’s license in good standing. Prior municipal experience and working knowledge of zoning and codes enforcement are highly desirable. Experience with stormwater management is not required but would be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will be assertive and confident when handling confrontational situations, while also demonstrating empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trust and effective working relationships. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and thoroughness are essential.
Compensation/Salary
East Bradford Township offers competitive compensation, with a salary range of $70,000 to $106,000, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage; paid time off; life and disability insurance; a pension plan; and a 457 plan.
