Program Director – Lower Gwynedd Township

Position Summary

Lower Gwynedd Township seeks a Program Director to oversee programs and volunteer opportunities that promote the health, wellbeing, and a strong feeling of community for all people who live and work in the community. Responsibilities include developing and managing community events, overseeing programs in the parks, working with volunteer boards and commissions as well as event volunteers, outreach to the community, budgeting, contract administration, and leadership and supervision for assigned staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage community events such as Fall Fest, concerts, and environmental programs.
  • Coordinate facility rentals, special events, and public outreach activities.
  • Serve as the staff liaison to the Parks & Recreation Board, Environmental Advisory Council, and Fall Fest Committee. Many of these meetings occur outside of regular business hours.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations, sponsors, and agencies.
  • Oversee communications, including the Township website, social media, and newsletters.
  • Supervise staff, interns, and volunteers while managing budgets and program schedules

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation or related field; CPRP certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in recreation programming or parks management.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; valid driver’s license required.
