Position Summary
Are you a visionary leader ready to shape the future of Manheim Township? We’re seeking a dynamic Director of Planning and Zoning to guide growth, champion smart development, and ensure our community continues to thrive.
As Director, you’ll oversee all planning and zoning operations—leading a talented team, managing land use ordinances, and directing both short- and long-range community planning initiatives. You’ll collaborate with developers, local boards, and regional partners to bring bold ideas to life while balancing innovation with preservation.
Your expertise in land use, zoning regulations, and urban or regional planning will help steer Township projects that enhance quality of life and sustainability. From managing the department budget to shaping comprehensive plans, you’ll have a direct hand in guiding how Manheim Township grows—thoughtfully and strategically.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a leader with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5–8 years of progressive planning experience, including supervisory responsibility
- AICP certification (preferred)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
