Position Summary
The Borough of Emmaus, PA is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Director of Emergency Services. This position will oversee the operational and administrative functions of the Emmaus Fire and Ambulance Departments as either the Fire Chief or Ambulance Chief. The salary range is $85,000 – $99,000. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. Emergency Services provide fire, EMS (ALS and BLS), and rescue services to a population of approximately 12,000 in a flourishing community 50 miles north of Philadelphia, located in Lehigh County.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least ten (10) years of documented experience in a pre-hospital emergency medical and fire department, including five (5) years in a management or supervisory capacity. College degree in a closely related field is preferred. In lieu of a college degree, consideration will be given to those that have a combination of at least twenty (20) years of active, documented experience in a pre-hospital emergency medical services and fire department organization, with at least ten (10) years in a management or supervisory capacity. Additionally, experience working in and / or managing both a volunteer and a paid fire department is required.
