Position Summary

Adams Township, located in Butler County, PA, is in search of a Township Manager.

The Township Manager functions as the Chief Administrative Officer, reporting directly to the Board of Supervisors. The successful candidate will exhibit dynamic leadership skills, communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to provide actionable and logical recommendations to the Board.

This role involves overseeing the daily functions of all Township Departments and personnel. Areas of oversight will include public safety, fiscal management, code enforcement, public works, parks and recreation, contract oversight, stormwater management, as well as public relations. Additionally, this position includes responsibilities as the Right to Know Officer.

Requirements

Minimum required competencies and attributes for the position:

  • A proven history of successful municipal management, with direct experience in developing, managing, and maintaining an annual operating and capital expenditure budget.
  • A history of providing strong administrative leadership within a similarly sized community or organization.
  • Effective leadership techniques that have facilitated goal setting and result achievement within financial constraints.
  • A well-established record of integrity and ethical actions in previous roles.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is essential.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in municipal management or as an assistant manager, with expertise in administrative, operational services, and human resources.
