Springdale Borough (population: 3,273), located in Allegheny County, PA, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated leader to serve as its next Borough Manager. Since September 2024, the Borough has been under the management of an Interim Manager. Nestled within the Allegheny Valley School District, Springdale borders Cheswick Borough, East Deer Township, and Springdale Township.
About the Role
The Borough Manager will collaborate closely with a long-serving Treasurer and an experienced Office Administrator, while overseeing a contracted code and zoning official, as well as a full-time Public Works Department that operates both a water treatment plant and distribution system. A key responsibility will be working with the seven-member Council and Mayor to help define and implement both short- and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and administer the Borough’s annual budget, including General and Utility Funds.
- Provide financial oversight for various grant-funded projects.
- Manage daily operations and ensure efficient municipal services.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration with Borough leadership, staff, and the community.
Qualifications & Experience
- Background in local government or nonprofit executive leadership.
- Proven success in project management and effective communication.
- Strong financial management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000–$85,000, based on qualifications.
