Director of Community Development – Haverford Township

Position Summary

Haverford Township – a suburban Philadelphia community is seeking a Director of Community Development (the “Director”).  The Director manages the code enforcement, subdivision, land development, zoning, storm water management (MS4), floodplain management and sewage facilities planning functions. The Director oversees the preparation and implementation of various short- and long-term community development programs for the Township and handles strategic planning, tactical action and operational decision-making to fulfill the assigned functions.

Salary is in the $100,000 range, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering or other related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • At least Seven (7) to ten (10) years of related experience is required, to include at least five (5) years of senior level experience in municipal management, municipal engineering, code enforcement, economic development, community development and/or zoning.
