Position Summary

Leacock Township, Lancaster County, PA, is one of the original townships established in Lancaster County. Founded in 1729, Leacock remains a small-town community focused on offering a rural living environment for residents, including a significant population of local Amish and Mennonite cultures. A unique combination of agriculture and tourism, including the destinations of Intercourse and Gordonville, Leacock Township is comprised of a close-knit, entrepreneurial community dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of the charming township.

Leacock Township is seeking a Township Manager to carry forward and advance the rich legacy of the township. Daily responsibilities include directing and coordinating all departments and activities within the Township, carrying out Board of Supervisor policies and programs, and overseeing all financial components and budgets of the Township. The ability to develop relationships, build teams, and “think outside the box” is essential to the role. A successful Township Manager will ensure a workplace culture of collaboration and teamwork, while providing exceptional service to residents.

Township Manager Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, finance, or related field, desired. Master’s degree, a plus
  • At least 5 years of successful leadership experience with the ability to lead and develop teams, essential
  • Professional experience within municipal government, desired; Experience relating to a Board, strongly preferred
  • Overall business and financial acumen including budget and operations, essential
  • Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite, strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
