South Strabane Township, a growing suburban community situated in the South Hills 26 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, and sitting at the heart of Washington County, is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Assistant to the Township Manager. This is an at-will, full-time exempt position that will serve the Township in a variety of capacities including assisting the Township Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Township. Responsibilities will include serving as Staff liaison to Township Boards & Commissions, coordinating land-development and zoning applications, and the execution of a high-level of customer service. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to offer innovative and creative solutions to solve complex problems. Perspective candidates must have a four-year college degree in public administration, urban planning, political science, or related field with a master’s degree being preferred. Candidates are expected to have at minimum three (3) years of experience in performing similar duties and functions in a municipality of similar size and complexity. Experience in land use planning/zoning is a plus. This position will include a competitive salary and benefits package including health insurance and participation in a PMRS retirement plan.
