The City of Chester is currently under receivership and filed for chapter 9 bankruptcy protection in November 2022. Chester is struggling with multi-million-dollar deficits, past due obligations to its employee pension plans, and very marginal investments in the infrastructure that Chester residents and businesses use every day. The City needs a strong Director of Finance/CFO who can handle a challenge and who wants to be part of this great city’s renaissance.
Qualifications
We are looking for a creative and innovative leader, who has experience in the areas of municipal accounting, budgeting, finance, debt, investments, and financial forecasting methods; experience improving finance department operations will be essential to achieve success in this role. Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and experience in public administration, finance, or comparable private sector experience.
The City of Chester is offering a salary range between $105,000 – $130,000 commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package. Relocation assistance will also be available for the successful out-of- area candidate.
