Verona Borough, Allegheny County, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Borough Manager.
An experienced professional with 5 years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in public administration and or related field (Master’s Degree preferred) is sought. The ideal candidate is well versed in municipal operations and administration. Responsibilities include oversight of all municipal departments except the Police Department. The Manager position is responsible for agenda setting, the execution of key policy decisions, budget preparation, financial management and reporting, pension administration, and performing all duties as established by Council and the Borough code.
The ideal candidate must be capable of managing multiple priorities, possess the ability to motivate and direct staff, be an excellent communicator, represent the Borough impeccably, and clearly and fairly interact with members of the public. The Manager also serves as the liaison with other public agencies and coordinates all grant seeking, economic and community development.
The successful candidate will report to a seven-member Council and oversee an approximate $2 million-dollar general fund budget, 3 full-time and 1 part-time employees, as well as be the primary point of contact for the contracted building officials/code enforcement officer, Engineer/Zoning Officer, Bookkeeper, Solicitor and Auditor.
Salary range: 70,000 to 85,000 and generous employee benefits, leave and retirement package. Must be bondable and must be able to successfully pass a background check.
