Executive Director – Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission

Position Summary

Serving almost 6 million residents, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) employs a progressive and collaborative approach to delivering services to its members and partner agencies. The organization is seeking a forward-thinking, inclusive, and effective leader to become its next Executive Director.

The Executive Director is selected by the Executive Committee and appointed by the DVRPC Board, and will focus on the following administrative functions:

  • Agency Administration
  • Staff Management
  • Board Engagement and Relations
  • Programs & Project Management
  • Partner and Media Relations
  • Outreach and New Initiatives

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work, including the following:

  • A baccalaureate degree is required; an advanced degree(s) in planning, public policy, public administration, or related fields is preferred. AICP or PP certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a public or non-profit organization which has successfully dealt with regional issues and programs.
  • A minimum of four years of direct supervisory and management experience of senior personnel, preferably in an organization similar in size and scope as the DVRPC.

Compensation and Application

The expected starting compensation range for the position is $190k – $220k +/- DOQ. DVRPC offers a competitive benefits package.
