Assistant Director of Public Works for Roads and Fleet – Moon Township

Position Summary

Moon Township (pop. 25,500) is a suburb of Pittsburgh, a second-class Township governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors that covers 24.12 square miles in Allegheny County, PA.   The Township provides municipal and infrastructure services to one of the premier communities in all of western Pennsylvania. 

This is one of two, newly created Assistant Director positions that report to the Public Works Director. The Assistant Director will provide management of the roads, fleet maintenance, traffic signals and storm system. There are 74.63 miles of streets and highways, a mix of owned and leased vehicles and a well-managed storm sewer system. The Assistant Director will play an integral role in developing and managing a $2 million Stormwater Fund, $1 million Liquid Fuels Fund and a $1.5 million Capital budget.   


The ideal candidate for this position should possess a minimum of five (3) years progressively responsible public works or construction related administration experience including at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and qualifying experience.  

The salary range for the Assistant Director is $80,000-85,000 plus an excellent benefit package.
