Director of Public Works – Solebury Township

Position Summary

Solebury Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Public Works Director. The position is responsible for the infrastructure of the township, including 70+ miles of roads, township buildings and facilities. The Public Works Director oversees the maintenance and repair of roads, parks, storm sewers, public works equipment, street signs, and all township vehicles. The position is hands-on and supervises an experienced crew of four full-time employees. The position also directs the work of all subcontractors used by the township for public works related tasks


All applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience preferably in a managerial/supervisory capacity as a PA Public Works Director, Road Superintendent, Roadmaster, Engineer, or Construction Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing public works projects and personnel, be familiar with PA liquid fuels reporting requirements, MS4 permitting, GIS mapping software, public bidding of road and construction projects, road construction, snow plowing operations, and department budgeting.  

High school diploma or GED is required along with strong written and verbal communication skills and basic computer knowledge. Post-secondary construction trade education, associates or bachelor degree in a related field desired. Comprehensive benefits with an annual salary between $95,000 to $115,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
