Assistant Public Works Director – Municipality of Bethel Park

Position Summary

The Municipality of Bethel Park is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works.  This position will report to the Public Works Director and is responsible for assisting the Director with all activities performed within the Public Works Department.  Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:  Daily supervision Public Works employees and operations, supervision of snow removal operations, establish and maintain procedures for maintenance of vehicle fleet, the municipal parks, and municipal buildings/grounds.  Also responsible for employee safety training, tracking of citizen complaints, response to emergency call outs involving the need for Public Works labor.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by supervisory experience, as well as, experience with vehicle maintenance, road construction, sewage/storm line construction work.  PA Drivers License with Class B Commercial and air brake and tanker endorsements are required, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office software and RTA Fleet Maintenance software.  Pre-employment background check and drug screening are required.  Salary Range $60,000-$65,000 plus a comprehensive fringe benefits package.
